our first “PASS THE AUX” event
the ripe boys decided to kick off a new event series called “pass the aux” where you’re able to play or perform an unreleased record to our panel of industry judges, hear valuable feedback, and win prizes.
MEET THE JUDGES
JUSTIN CLANCY
Justin’s experiences with substance abuse and mental health challenges have given him a profound understanding of resilience and the importance of self-discovery. CASO
CASO is an energetic, and prominant figure in the masssachusetts music scene. following his deal with the orchard music group, caso released a 9 song project titled “thanks for nothin” and wound up on jimmy kimmel during the nba finals while we were filming the video for his lead single TFN. His musical experience combined with his immense skill as an audio engineer make him a strong judge.
TRILL MANNY
trill manny is what made ripe–tanjerines. expand to offer artist management. after we brought him in for an orange room performance, we saw his passion, and talent. after hearing a bunch of his unreleased records, we decided we wanted to help propel his career. manny has a strong connection to the underground and his confidence in his taste makes him an awesome judge.
THE WINNERS
there were tons of talented artists who came to the event. we are blessed to be able to be surrounded by so much passion. massachusetts is evolving and shifting into the music scene we’ve all wanted for a long time. there were 3 winners that stood out to our judges.
1ST PLACE: Penny
penny delivered an early 2000 vibe. he brought high energy, and an all around polished record. he won a 1 month platinum membership!
2ND PLACE: CHIZZ CAPO
Chizz won 2nd prize for a hot, summer time record. he had strong vocals and succesfully broke the 4th wall. chizz won 5 free reels shot by the ripe team.
3rd place: SHEA
shea brought us a song thats releasing soon with a oldschool hip-hop influence. shea brought his newschool flare to an og beat. shea won 2 free hours of recording time in our studio.
